Overview of NTNP Application Streams
The Northwest Territories Nominee Program (NTNP) accepts applications through two main categories, one of which is further divided into three separate streams.
Northwest Territories Employer Driven Program
This program includes the following streams:
- Express Entry Stream for Skilled Workers
- Skilled Worker Stream
- Entry Level / Semi-Skilled Occupations Stream
Northwest Territories Business Immigration Program
This category includes the Business Stream.
Express Entry Stream for Skilled Workers
The NTNP Express Entry Stream for Skilled Workers is intended to nominate candidates who are already in the federal Express Entry pool and meet the requirements of the Northwest Territories Skilled Worker category. Eligible foreign nationals who have entered the Express Entry system may apply through this stream for provincial nomination.
Skilled Worker Stream
The Skilled Worker Stream allows the Northwest Territories government to nominate applicants who have a valid job offer from an employer in the territory for a skilled position. In most cases, candidates are required to have already completed at least six months of work experience in the same role within the Northwest Territories.
Entry Level / Semi-Skilled Occupations Stream
This stream is designed to assist local employers in addressing labour shortages for entry-level or semi-skilled roles when suitable Canadian workers cannot be found either locally or across the country. Applicants are generally expected to have worked in the job in the Northwest Territories for a minimum of six months.
Business Stream
The Business Stream is aimed at foreign entrepreneurs who have the ability to establish, purchase, or invest in a business in the Northwest Territories. The business must contribute to the local economy and help create employment opportunities in the territory.
